Welcome! I'm so glad to have you here! I'm Ky. I started this blog and my vlog as a way to share my interests in fashion, travel, and also my personal growth story. Like anybody else, I have had my shares of up and downs in life and I get through it all with God, style, grace, laughs, self-reflection, and some R & R. I hope that this blog brings you some of things as well.
All About Me
I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. I attended Notre Dame Preparatory High School and graduated from Loyola University Chicago. My passion for fashion started at a young age. I lived next door to my cousins so dress up and make believe was apart of our daily routine. I was always putting together costumes and putting on performances. I was/am very theatrical. It was also in my childhood that I learned to sew from my mother and great grandmother. I spent some afternoons as a child sewing doll dresses with my grandma, and that carried over to my teen years making crop tops and decorating T-shirts. My mother helped fuel this love of fashion by always supporting and helping me attempt and create any project I came up with. Even through college I was always involved with something around fashion. I did fashion shows, curated looks for shoots, and worked part-time as a personal shopper and stylist.
As I got older and was blessed enough to take my first international trip to Mexico at the age of nine, I started to understand more about what fashion could be. How it speaks to peoples identity and culture. Understanding this, along with seeing new places and of course trying new foods, really ignited my passion for traveling. In my life so far I have been blessed to have traveled to 4 continents and over 12 countries. Every place I have gone to has taught me more about myself and the type of person I would like to be.
My life motto is high tide floats all ships, and I center my mindset around that idea whenever I take on a new project. In my current profession I am Project Manager for an apparel brand and freelance as a stylist, fashion and business consulting. I have managed numerous business ventures and collaborations where I strived to ensure all parties are winners. This is the foundation of the Ky Elsena Brand. As a faith based influencer and entrepreneur, I keep God at the forefront of all I do and strive to see continued growth and success for everyone involved. I truly believe working with me is planting a seed in fertile ground.
